Is solo travel overrated or underrated?
 
Solo travelling is on the rise world over a few reasons for the same are

1. Easy access to information
2. Heightened level of education
3. Women emancipation
4. Changing definition of travel
5. Clarity on priorities of life
6. Freedom of movement
7. Special interest tourism
8. Break in routine life for urbanites
9. Best way to utilized time and money by way of tourism
10. Social change in matrimonial space

There are merits and demerits of solo travelling. Some of the reasons mentioned above may be debatable but it is observed that the people who travel solo do it with conviction
In spite of the benefits that of the solo travelling has like freedom of movement, more scope for adjustment, possibly lower cost, etc solo travelling has its own challenges like safety and security, lack of backup in case of emergency, possible restriction in time and movement etc
Increase trend in solo travelling can be a clear reflection of recent social and attitudinal changes especially in urban pockets.

Solo travelling is neither overrated or underrated but it is matter of perception and individual choice.
